Dearest friends of my father,
This is Samantha. Easter has arrived and Jesus has risen. "Has Dennis risen too?" My faith tells me he has, in his own way thanks to God, but also that it is our duty to continue pray for his soul.
"Has Dennis risen too?" This is the question on my heart because I too want to rise with you, with Dad, and with Jesus on the last day.
I am grateful that Dennis passed away on his own terms, as much as possible since we know all things are on God's time. I am grateful to have been by his side as he has always been by mine. There were times when I felt like the prodigal daughter. He always gave me another chance to be my best. Dad was generous and forgiving, even though at times it felt like the opposite. His heart was good and so I know his soul, though caught in many trials and tribulations, was a good soul too.
As we learn to give God space to work, live in the love our faith, and forgiveness in our hearts we get closer to our rising day as well.
That's Easter lesson I'm taking with me today and onward.
