Opening Hymn
Canticle of the Turning
Refrain: My heart shall sing of the day you bring.
Let the fires of your justice burn.
Wipe away all tears, for the dawn draws near,
and the world is about to turn!
FIRST READING
Scripture: Job 14: 14-22
Speaker: Mr. Michael Malloy
If a man were to die, and live again,
all the days of my drudgery
I would wait for my relief to come.
You would call, and I would answer you;
you would long for the work of your hands.
Surely then you would count my steps,
and not keep watch for sin in me.
My misdeeds would be sealed up in a pouch, and you would cover over my guilt.
Mountains fall and crumble,
rocks move from their place,
And water wears away stone,
and floods wash away the soil of the land
- so you destroy the hope of mortals!
You prevail once for all against them and they pass on;
you dismiss them with changed appearance.
If their children are honored, they are not aware of it; or if disgraced,
they do not know about them.
Only for themselves, their pain;
only for themselves, their mourning.

Responsorial Psalm
As deer longs for running streams,
So I long for you...
SECOND READING
Scripture: Romans 5: 5-11
Speaker: Mr. Thomas Roman
Hope does not disappoint,
because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
For Christ, while we were still helpless,
died at the appointed time for the ungodly.
Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though perhaps for a good person
one might even find courage to die.
But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. How much more then, since we are now justified by his Blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath. Indeed, if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of
his Son, how much more, once reconciled,
will we be saved by his life. Not only that,
but we also boast of God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Hymn During the Preparation of the Gifts
Lord of All Hopefulness
Lord of all gentleness,
Lord of all calm,
Whose voice is contentment,
whose presence is balm,
Be there at our sleeping,
and give us, we pray,
Your peace in our hearts, Lord,
at the end of the day.

I have called you and you are mine.
I have loved you with an everlasting love.
I have called you and you are mine.
Post-Communion Hymn
First Verse: Be thou my vision,
O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me save that thou art.

Final Commendation Hymn
Oh Loving God
Verse 1: O loving God,
we send our son home to you,
home to a place of everlasting love,
to join there with the angel choirs and blessed saints,
and to behold your glorious holy face.
Chorus: Receive his soul and let eternal light shine,
eternal light forever on his soul,
so he may be forever in your dwelling place,
and be at rest in peace until we meet him there
Recessional Hymn
The Irish Blessing Prayer
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
